Tea Room Shoji Replacement Case Study: A Major Manufacturer
An example of a shoji that uses a technique called "danbari" (stone wall pattern), where the seams are intentionally visible to create a beautiful pattern!
At our store, we have replaced the shoji screens in the tea room located on the top floor of a certain major manufacturer's office building with high-quality handmade washi paper. While large sheets of washi paper are available today, in the past, only small sheets were used, which led to a method of installation called "danbari" (stone wall style) that intentionally showcases the seams to create a beautiful pattern. The tea room, which we paid particular attention to, still employs this method of installation. [Case Overview] - The shoji screens are installed using the "danbari" (stone wall style) method, which intentionally showcases the seams to create a beautiful pattern. - The tea room, which we paid particular attention to, still uses this method. *For more details, please refer to the related links.
